Have
you ever spoken in the righteousness of God and had others respond
to you with disdain and indignation? Is your Christian witness under
attack because you decided to stand for and in Truth? We live in
a world where the works of the enemies of Truth are pervasive and
popular. Opponents of Truth work aggressively to destroy lives and
thwart the plans of God. Yet, the shackles placed on us by our adversary
can be broken, loosed, and removed from our lives with the mighty
weaponry of God.
The weapon
of truth is a terror to the soldiers of satan's army and to the
father of lies. When used in the name of Jesus, truth nullifies
and frustrates all of our enemies' intentions and becomes the stronghold
that is essential in the life of every believer of the Messiah.
Jesus
Christ, our God is the Truth. Since there is no sin in Him, trickery
of any kind will not be found in Him. There is no lying spirit that
can ever subdue the Truth. Delusion, illusion, entrapment, conspiracy,
subornation, seduction, misinformation, manipulation, betrayal,
self-denial, self-pity, self-righteousness, or discouragement may
be operative in our lives and have exalted themselves against the
knowledge of God, but this kind will always be eradicated by Truth.
When
we confront others with the Truth, it is not uncommon for anxiety
and other forms of misery to expose themselves. Unmanaged speech,
uncontrolled yelling, indecisiveness, capriciousness, and a firm
stand for self-victimization are some distinguishable modes of expression
found in those who work to deceive themselves and others. Surely,
the flesh and cohorts of darkness detest Truth. Yet, in spite of
their disapproval and objections, we must represent our God well
by always standing for righteousness and holiness. Without a judgmental
approach and self-righteous attitude, Children of God must never
conform to the ways of the world for to do so is to condone sin.
We can
expect hostility, rebellion and other demons of opposition to come
our way when we live in the Truth and reject the lies of our enemy.
In such moments of testing, we must make a judgment call, that opposes
unrighteousness and upholds the standards that our God has set before
us. Standing for righteousness is not always easy, but God is able
to do all things (Luke 1:37), enables our hands to war (Psalm 18:34),
hardens us to difficulties, (Isaiah 41:10). Hallelujah! Our God
is just and righteous.
